Who Is Josh Feldman? Meet Blind Frog Ranch's New Lead Treasure Hunter
A new face has taken a much bigger role on Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch.
His name is Josh Feldman.
Fans who watched Season 5 may already recognize him. But Season 6 is where Feldman moved from an outside treasure hunting expert into a much more central position.
When ranch owner Duane Ollinger became ill, Josh took over the search for the legendary Aztec gold.
So who exactly is Josh Feldman?
Josh Feldman Is an Arizona Treasure Hunter
Feldman is a treasure hunter from Arizona with a strong interest in mining and ancient underground sites.
Chad Ollinger previously described Josh as someone who had traveled around the world searching for discoveries and had extensive mining knowledge. That experience made him useful when the Blind Frog Ranch team began investigating caves and possible ancient workings beneath the property. See more.....
He was first brought into the Blind Frog Ranch investigation during an earlier season.
His role became increasingly important as the team searched for clues connected to the supposed Aztec treasure.
Why Is Josh Leading Season 6?
The biggest change came at the beginning of Season 6.
Duane Ollinger was no longer able to lead the investigation because of illness.
That left a major gap in the team.
Josh stepped into that role and began directing the treasure hunt alongside his father, Ron Feldman. See more.....
The first Season 6 episode, The Book of Rhoades, follows Josh and Ron as they track down a Mormon journal believed to contain clues connected to the treasure hunt.
That journal becomes one of the season's central mysteries.
Who Is Ron Feldman?
Josh is not investigating Blind Frog Ranch alone.
His father, Ron Feldman, joins him on the search.
The father and son team are officially credited as treasure hunters in Season 6, giving the show a new dynamic after years of focusing heavily on Duane and Chad Ollinger.
Their investigation follows clues that lead toward underground chambers and the mysterious Golden Staircase.
What Has Josh Found?
Season 6 quickly became much more ambitious.
The team followed clues from the Rhoades journal and discovered a collapsed mine entrance they believed could lead toward the Keyhole Chamber.
They eventually entered an underground labyrinth around 250 feet below the surface and reached the Keyhole Chamber.
Later episodes shifted the focus toward another possible chamber known as the Golden Staircase.
By the season finale, the team had entered a cavern system and discovered a stone formation they believed could be connected to that mysterious structure.
However, the existence of the legendary Aztec gold itself remains an unproven claim.
Is Josh the New Duane Ollinger?
Not exactly.
Josh has taken over the treasure hunting leadership role, but he brings a different personality and background to the show.
Duane's story was deeply connected to his own property and his long running belief that an enormous fortune was hidden beneath Blind Frog Ranch.
Josh approaches the investigation more as an experienced treasure hunter and miner.
That gives Season 6 a noticeably different feel.
Why Fans Are Watching Josh
The biggest question surrounding Josh is simple.
Can he succeed where previous investigations failed?
Season 6 has already taken the team into previously unexplored underground areas, following clues that connect Mormon history, mining and the long running Aztec gold theory.
Whether those clues ultimately lead to a real treasure is another question.
But Josh has certainly changed the direction of the investigation.
Final Thoughts
Josh Feldman did not suddenly appear out of nowhere.
He was introduced to Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch before Season 6 as a treasure hunting and mining expert.
But after Duane Ollinger became ill, Josh moved into the leading role.
Now, with his father Ron beside him, he is following the Rhoades journal, exploring underground chambers and chasing the biggest mystery on Blind Frog Ranch.
The treasure has still not been proven.
But Season 6 has given the hunt a new face.
And for the first time, Josh Feldman is the man leading the search.
